The southernmost of the five villages of Cinque Terre, known for its colorful houses that cascade steeply down to the sea. A 14th-century castle (Castello di Riomaggiore) dominates the village and offers a panoramic view of the entire archipelago. The narrow harbor with its boats is ideal for photography.
Free entry to the village. The castle can be visited for a small fee. Arriving by train or boat is recommended as parking is extremely limited.
