A vast lake stretching southeast of Zurich's city center, surrounded by parks, bathing areas, and views of the Alps. The lakeside Seepromenade is ideal for walking and cycling, and in summer it is possible to swim at several public beaches. A boat tour of the lake is one of the most popular excursions.
Walking along the lakeside is free. A boat tour of the lake costs approximately 8–17 EUR depending on the length of the route, and is operated by ZSG (Zürichsee-Schifffahrtsgesellschaft). Boat tickets are purchased at the Bürkliplatz pier.
