Golubac is a small town on the right bank of the Danube, at the entrance to the Đerdap Gorge in eastern Serbia. It is known for the medieval Golubac Fortress, located several kilometers east of the settlement, and due to its position alongside Đerdap National Park it serves as a good starting point for exploring this part of the Danube region. From Golubac, visitors can explore viewpoints over the gorge, monasteries in the surrounding area, and archaeological sites along the Danube.

Golubac Fortress is a medieval fortification from the 14th century, situated on a rocky ridge at the very entrance to the Đerdap Gorge. Its walls follow the natural contours of the terrain and connect nine towers, while its position above the Danube allowed control of both the river and land routes through this part of the gorge. Following its revitalization, the fortress has been arranged for visitor tours, with visitor facilities and views of the Danube and the surrounding landscape.
Dragon's Garden is a viewpoint above Golubac Fortress, connected to the fortress by a landscaped walking trail called 'The Path of Sumac and Lilac'. The trail passes through the tourist area of the fortress and the Đerdap National Park, and from the viewpoint there is a view of the Danube and the entrance to the Đerdap Gorge.
The Church of Saint Nicholas is an Orthodox church in Golubac, built around 1840 on the site of an older log church from the 18th century. It was declared a cultural monument in 1983, and the church preserves icons, liturgical books, vessels, and other items of church furnishings. It is located not far from the center of Golubac.
Tumane Monastery is an Orthodox monastery of the Braničevo Eparchy, situated in a wooded area not far from Golubac.
