Everything you need for Ischia in one place
A fortress on a rocky islet connected by a bridge to the settlement of Ischia Ponte. It was originally built in 474 BC, while its present appearance dates from the period of Aragonese rule in the 15th century. Within the walls are churches, a monastery, a former prison, and museum spaces. From the top, a panoramic view stretches over the Gulf of Naples and the surrounding islands.
A volcanic peak 787 meters high, the highest point of the island of Ischia, reachable on foot from the village of Fontana in about 90 minutes. On clear days, the summit offers views of the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius, and the surrounding islands. Near the summit stands a small church carved into green tuff, dating from the 15th century.
A botanical garden in Forio founded in 1956 by Susana Walton, wife of British composer William Walton, designed by landscape architect Russell Page. The garden is divided into a valley section and a hillside section, and encompasses more than 1,000 plant species from around the world. Open-air concerts are held here on weekends.
The boat tours the coast of Ischia and stops in coves such as Baia di Sorgeto, where natural thermal springs emerge right along the seafront.
