Procida is the smallest island in the Gulf of Naples, known for its colorful fishermen's houses, a more peaceful atmosphere, and harbors that have retained the appearance of a traditional Mediterranean fishing village. The island gained international recognition as one of the filming locations for the movie Il Postino, and in 2022 it was awarded the title of Italian Capital of Culture. Everything you need for Procida in one place
The oldest part of Procida, a fortified settlement perched on top of a cliff overlooking the Gulf of Naples and the island of Ischia. The walls date back to the Middle Ages, and within them stand churches, historic houses, and the complex of the former prison Palazzo d'Avalos.
An 11th-century Benedictine abbey located within the walls of Terra Murata, featuring richly decorated altars and a crypt housing the relics of the island's patron saint. Within the abbey complex there is a museum with artworks, manuscripts, and artifacts that bear witness to the history of Procida.
A fishing harbor free of car traffic, with houses in shades of yellow, pink, and orange cascading down to the sea. It is one of the most recognizable harbors in Italy, and in the early morning hours local fishermen can still be seen setting out or returning from the sea.
A boat tour of Procida offers views of rocky coastlines, the coves of Chiaiolella and Ciraccio, fishing harbors, and the colorful facades of Terra Murata rising above the sea.
