Iconic symbol of Thessaloniki, a 15th-century Ottoman tower rising along the shore of the Thermaic Gulf. Inside the tower is a museum displaying the history of the city from the Byzantine period to the modern era. From the top, a panoramic view of Thessaloniki and the coastline unfolds.
One of the most significant museums in Greece, with collections spanning the period from prehistory to late antiquity. It houses exceptional finds from Macedonian tombs, including gold jewelry and artifacts from the era of Philip II and Alexander the Great. The museum was founded in 1962 and is located in a modern building in the city center.
A well-preserved Byzantine quarter on a hill above Thessaloniki, featuring authentic Ottoman houses, narrow cobblestone streets, and remnants of Byzantine walls. It offers the finest panoramic view of the entire city and the gulf. It is also home to the fortress of Eptapyrgio (Yedi Kule), which dates back to the Byzantine period.
