Tara is a national park in western Serbia, known for its expansive forests, the deep valley of the Drina river, mountain lakes, and numerous viewpoints. The protected area is home to Pančić's spruce, an endemic and relict species of spruce that is one of the most recognizable natural symbols of Tara. Mitrovac and Kaluđerske Bare serve as starting points for exploration, while among the more notable landmarks are Banjska stena, Zaovinsko jezero, the Crveni potok reserve, and the canyon landscapes. Due to the rugged terrain and the distances between individual sites, a car is practical for visiting different parts of the national park.

Banjska stena is the most famous viewpoint in Tara National Park, offering views of Perućac Lake and the deep canyon of the Drina River. From the rocky plateau, a wide panorama stretches across the river meanders and the surrounding forested slopes, making it a favorite spot for photography, especially at sunset. A short trail through the forest leads to the viewpoint.
House on the Drina is a small wooden house built on a solitary rock in the middle of the Drina River, near Bajina Bašta. Built in the late 1960s as a shelter for swimmers, it has over time become one of the most recognizable and most photographed sights of western Serbia. It is best seen from the riverbank or during a boat ride along the Drina.
Vrelo is a short river near Perućac, only about 365 meters long, which is why it is also called 'the Year River'. It springs from beneath the mountain, flows through greenery, and ends in a picturesque waterfall that empties into Lake Perućac. A maintained walking path leads to the waterfall, making it suitable for an easy family stroll.
