Everything you need for Trieste in one place
The castle built in the mid-19th century for Archduke Maximilian of Habsburg is located on the shore of the Gulf of Trieste. The interior has preserved its original furniture and decoration from that period, while the park surrounding the castle leads to several viewpoints overlooking the sea.
One of the largest squares in Italy, opening towards the sea and surrounded by neo-Renaissance and Baroque palaces from the 19th and early 20th centuries. It serves as the central gathering place of the city and one of the most recognizable locations in Trieste. The evening lighting and the view over the bay make it particularly popular among visitors.
A 14th-century Roman Catholic cathedral formed by merging two earlier churches, dedicated to the patron saint of Trieste, Saint Justus. The interior is adorned with exceptional Byzantine mosaics dating from the 12th century. It is located on the hill of San Giusto, which offers a panoramic view of the city and the bay.
