Umag is a coastal town in the northwest of Istria, situated right on the border with Slovenia. Its history dates back to Roman times, and the old town still preserves remnants of medieval walls and narrow stone streets. Umag is known as the host of the ATP tennis tournament, as well as a good starting point for exploring northwestern Istria, cycling trails, and nearby wine routes.
