Zakynthos is one of the most famous islands in the Ionian Sea, known for its steep limestone cliffs, turquoise coves, and Navagio beach with its shipwreck. Beyond the coastline, the island offers traditional villages, viewpoints, sea caves, and natural habitats of the caretta-caretta sea turtle. Thanks to its combination of natural beauty, history, and picturesque seaside towns, Zakynthos is one of the most visited destinations in western Greece.

Everything you need for Zakynthos in one place
The fortress built in the 15th century on Bochali hill offers a panoramic view of the town and port of Zakynthos. Within its walls lie the remains of churches, military structures, and vegetation that has over time covered a large part of the complex.
The museum on Agios Markos square is dedicated to Dionysios Solomos, the author of the Greek national anthem, who was born on Zakynthos in 1798. It houses his personal belongings, manuscripts and mortal remains, as well as collections dedicated to other notable inhabitants of the island.
The patron saint of the island, St. Dionysios, rests in a silver casket inside this 19th-century Orthodox church, which is one of the few buildings to have survived the devastating earthquake of 1953. The bell tower beside the church is one of the symbols of the city of Zakynthos. The church is located by the harbor, not far from the city center.
Boat trips from the ports of Porto Vromi or Agios Nikolaos lead to Navagio Beach with the famous shipwreck 'Panagiotis', and then to the Blue Caves and spots suitable for swimming.
