Antholz: Lake and Biathlon Centre

The Antholz valley branches off from the Pustertal east of Brunico and ends at a lake surrounded by forests and steep peaks, close to the Austrian border. A gentle walk leads around the lake, and in winter the water freezes over, leaving the valley quiet and blanketed in snow. At the foot of the lake lies the biathlon centre where World Cup races are held and where Olympic biathlon competitions have taken place, making the excursion a perfect blend of natural scenery and one of the sport's most celebrated venues.
