Bad Hofgastein and Alpentherme

Another spa town in the same valley, a few kilometres further down, with a flat pedestrian centre and a large thermal complex. The key difference from Bad Gastein is the absence of steep terrain: Bad Hofgastein is leisurely and family-friendly where Bad Gastein is dramatic. Trains and buses run through the valley, so a car is not necessary.
