Drava River Cycling Route to Lienz

The cycling route along the Drava River begins in San Candido and follows the river across the border into Austria, all the way to Lienz in East Tyrol. The route is largely downhill and traffic-free, passing through meadows, forests and small villages, making it one of the most enjoyable longer cycling rides in the Alps — even for those who are not sporty. In Lienz, after a rest in the historic town centre, cyclists plan their return to San Candido. The route is best suited to the warmer months of the year.
