One of the most famous excursions on the Adriatic — a full-day boat tour from Split that includes a visit to the island of Vis and the Blue Cave on the island of Biševo. The natural phenomenon occurs when sunlight shines through an underwater opening and illuminates the interior of the cave, reflecting off the white sand — the entire inner space transforms into a fluorescent blue color. The best time to visit is between 11am and 1pm when the light is at its strongest. Most tours also include stops at smaller coves (Stiniva, Green Cave on Ravnik, Budikovac) and time for swimming.
