Boè: Cable Car, Vallon, and Lake Boè

The Boè gondola lift departs from Corvara and ascends to a high plateau beneath the Sella massif, from where a short walk leads to the small Lake Boè and into the rocky amphitheatre of Vallon. This is also the starting point for the ascent to Piz Boè, the summit of the Sella group at 3,152 metres, which is considered one of the more accessible peaks in the Dolomites above three thousand metres. The climb is nonetheless long, with sections over rock, scree, and stretches secured by fixed cables, so it demands good fitness, sure footing, and stable weather. In winter, Boè forms part of the Alta Badia ski area.
