Landro Valley: Lake Dürrensee and the View of the Tre Cime

South of Dobbiaco, the road enters the Landro Valley (Höhlensteintal), which leads towards Cortina. At around 1,400 metres lies Dürrensee, a turquoise lake with the Monte Cristallo massif in the background. Not far from it is a viewpoint from which the northern faces of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo can be seen from the valley floor — a sight that would otherwise only reveal itself after a lengthy climb. The viewpoint has information panels about the landscape, and both spots are accessible by road, bicycle, or footpath, with no demanding hiking required. The valley falls within the Tre Cime and Fanes-Senes-Braies nature parks, and in winter it is crossed by a cross-country skiing trail.
