The Villnöss Valley leads to one of the most iconic views in the Dolomites: the little church of Santa Maddalena and the Ranui chapel, set against the jagged ridgeline of the Odle massif. Mountaineer Reinhold Messner grew up in this valley, and its upper reaches belong to the Puez-Odle nature park, part of the UNESCO-protected Dolomites. Footpaths wind between farmsteads and meadows to scenic viewpoints, and the valley is far quieter than the ski resorts nearby.
