Durrës — Ancient Amphitheatre and the Adriatic Coast

Durrës is the oldest and second largest city in Albania, situated on the Adriatic coast to the west of Tirana. Ancient Dyrrachium preserves one of the largest Roman amphitheatres in the Balkans, along with remnants of city walls and mosaics, while a long sandy beach stretches along the coast, lined with a promenade, cafes, and seafood restaurants.
