Eiger Trail

The Eiger Trail runs from Eigergletscher station, reached via the Eiger Express, down to Alpiglen at the very foot of the Eiger's north face. The trail is approximately 6 km long and descends almost entirely, taking around two hours to walk, across steep alpine pastures and past streams and waterfalls. With binoculars, you can sometimes spot climbers on the face. From Alpiglen, a train takes you back to Grindelwald. The trail is a mountain path, open in summer only, when it is free of snow.
