Etna — Crater and Lava Fields

Etna is an active volcano located about an hour's drive from Taormina, offering a completely different landscape from the rest of Sicily — fields of hardened lava, volcanic craters, and mountain terrain at over 3,300 meters above sea level. A cable car runs up to around 2,500 meters, from where organized jeep tours or hiking trails continue toward the higher craters. The excursion combines volcanic scenery, mountain air, and views of the Ionian Sea.
