Ascent to the Venetian Fortress

Cobblestone streets of the old town lead uphill to the Venetian fortress above the harbor, offering views of Parga, the island of Panagia, and the Ionian Sea. The climb is short but steep, with many steps, so comfortable footwear and a rest along the way are recommended. The best time to visit is late afternoon, when the sun sets directly over the sea as seen from the ramparts.
