The Pilgrimage Route over Falkenstein

A historic pilgrimage route between St. Gilgen and St. Wolfgang, approximately nine kilometres long, taking around three hours to walk with an ascent of about 360 metres. At the highest point stands a small chapel on Falkenstein, and along the way you will find a spring believed to heal eye ailments and a pile of 'sin stones' brought by pilgrims as an act of penance. The trail has 24 information stations and is suitable for families with children. The route is walked one way on foot and the other by boat. It is at its best from spring through to early winter.
