Lake Sorapis

Lake Sorapis lies beneath the massif of the same name, nestled in a rocky basin accessible only by a hiking trail from the Tre Croci pass — there is no road. The trail winds through forest and across open slopes, with a few short sections secured by fixed cables, and the reward is a lake of milky turquoise, its colour fed by fine glacial rock flour, with the peak of Dito di Dio rising above the water. It is at its most beautiful in summer and in the early morning, before the trail fills with other hikers.
