Kastav — a medieval town above Kvarner Bay

Kastav is a medieval hilltop town above Rijeka, with a well-preserved old core, city walls, and a viewpoint offering panoramic views of Kvarner Bay and its islands. Narrow stone streets and the square Lokvina make it one of the best-preserved historic settlements in the Kvarner hinterland. It is easily reached by car or bus from Rijeka, and a visit takes half a day.
