Kornati National Park

An archipelago consisting of more than 80 islands, islets, and reefs scattered between Zadar and Šibenik. Most visitors arrive on organized boat excursions that include sailing through the park, swimming in coves, and stops on select islands. The Kornati are known for their bare rocky slopes, dry-stone walls, and the large number of uninhabited islands, making them one of the most distinctive natural areas of the Croatian Adriatic. The writer Bernard Shaw reportedly said that God created the Kornati from tears, stars, and breath — today they are protected as a national park (since 1980).
