An archipelago comprising more than 80 islands, islets, and reefs scattered between Zadar and Šibenik. Most visitors arrive on organized boat excursions that include sailing through the park, swimming in coves, and stops on individual islands. Kornati are known for their bare rocky slopes, dry-stone walls, and large number of uninhabited islands, making them one of the most recognizable natural areas of the Croatian Adriatic. The writer Bernard Shaw allegedly said that God created Kornati from tears, stars, and breath — today they are protected as a national park (since 1980). Departures from Zadar early in the morning (8 a.m.), return in the late afternoon. The park entrance ticket is included in the price of the tour.
