Corviglia and Piz Nair

Corviglia and Piz Nair

The funicular from St. Moritz Dorf, stopping at Chantarella station, climbs to Corviglia at 2,489 metres; opened in 1928, it was the first funicular in Switzerland to lead directly to a ski resort. From there, a cable car takes around five minutes to reach the summit of Piz Nair at 3,056 metres, offering views over the Engadine lakes and the Albula Alps. With a reservation, an early pre-sunrise ride is also available, with breakfast at the top. The funicular was undergoing a major overhaul in summer 2026, so check whether it is operating before you set off.
