The main mountain resort of Slovenia, situated in the far northwest on the border with Austria and Italy. In winter it is a ski resort, while in summer it serves as a starting point for Lake Jasna, the Vršič Pass, and scenic valley walks. Traditional Alpine architecture with wooden houses and baroque-eastern church towers.
