Krimmler Waterfalls

The highest waterfall in Austria, with three cascades tumbling down through the forest. A well-maintained trail with viewpoints at various elevations leads both to the base and to the top; the ascent is gradual but lengthy, and proper walking shoes are essential — town footwear will not do. The mist constantly thrown up by the water makes even the warmest day feel noticeably cooler here.
