Motovun Forest

An oak forest in the valley of the Mirna River, a few kilometers below Motovun, is one of the most famous truffle-hunting grounds for white truffles in Istria and Europe. The forest features well-maintained hiking and cycling trails suitable for walking throughout the year, and during the season local foragers organize guided truffle-hunting tours with specially trained dogs. The forest is most easily reached by car, descending from the Motovun hill toward the valley, and the trails are flat and easy to walk.
