Museum Ladin at Ciastel de Tor Castle

In the village of San Martin de Tor, in the middle section of the Badia Valley, the medieval castle of Ciastel de Tor is today home to the principal museum of Ladin culture. The permanent exhibition tells the story of the Ladin language — one of the oldest in the Alps — as well as the daily life and crafts of the Ladin valleys, local legends, and the geology of the Dolomites. For visitors to Corvara, this is the best place to understand what the word 'Ladin' actually means — the word they encounter on signs throughout the area.
