Neusiedler See National Park — Seewinkel

A plain stretching east of the lake, dotted with dozens of shallow salt pools that dry out in summer and refill again — a landscape characteristic of this part of Burgenland. The information centre in Illmitz serves as the starting point, with observation towers, cycling routes, and walking trails. Birds can be spotted throughout the year, though spring and autumn are migration seasons, when the greatest variety of species can be seen.
