Parenzana — old railway trail

Parenzana is a former narrow-gauge railway line running from Trieste to Poreč, decommissioned in 1935 and today converted into a hiking and cycling trail through the Istrian hinterland. The section passing below Grožnjan winds through vineyards, tunnels, and over old viaducts, with the gentle gradient inherited from the original railway alignment making it easily accessible even for children. The trail is marked and free of charge, and the entrance can be reached from Grožnjan in about ten minutes on foot.
