The walking ascent to Palamidi Fortress is one of the most famous experiences in Nafplio. From the old town, a path leads up to the Venetian fortress situated 216 meters above sea level, offering views of the Argolic Gulf, Nafplio, and Bourtzi Fortress. The summit can be reached via the well-known staircase or a walking trail, and it is worth setting aside a few hours to explore the fortress and its bastions. During the summer months, an earlier departure is recommended due to the high temperatures.
