Known as the 'Queen of the Mountains', Rigi (1,797 m) is one of the most famous mountains in central Switzerland. A historic rack railway, in operation since 1871, leads to the summit, while the viewpoints offer panoramic views of Lake Lucerne, numerous alpine lakes, and the surrounding mountain peaks. It is especially popular for sunrise and sunset watching, as well as for gentle hiking trails suited to all ages.
