Vienna Woods (Wienerwald)

The wooded hills behind Vienna, stretching from the Kahlenberg down to the wine villages at its foot. From the Kahlenberg, there are sweeping views over the city and the Danube valley, and marked trails wind through deciduous forest. In the villages below — Grinzing and Nussdorf — traditional Viennese wine taverns serve wines produced on their own estates.
