Syracuse — Ortigia and the Greek Theatre

Syracuse is about a 40-minute drive from Noto and combines two distinct historical sites. On the island of Ortigia you will find a cathedral built around an ancient temple of Athena, the Fountain of Arethusa, and a historic city center with narrow streets, while the Neapolis Archaeological Park contains one of the largest Greek theaters of the ancient world. The excursion offers a good overview of the history of Syracuse, from ancient Greece to the Baroque period.
