Stari Grad and Stari Grad Plain (UNESCO)

Stari Grad and Stari Grad Plain (UNESCO)

The Stari Grad Plain is a cultural landscape on the island of Hvar, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2008. The plain was colonised in the 4th century BC by Ionian Greeks from the island of Paros, and vines and olives have been cultivated here without interruption ever since. The excursion is combined with a visit to Stari Grad, the town situated alongside the plain itself.
