Five Lakes Trail

The Five Lakes Trail (5-Seenweg) runs from Blauherd (2,571 m) back down to Sunnegga, passing the lakes of Stellisee, Grindjisee, Grünsee, Moosjisee, and Leisee. In clear weather, the Matterhorn is reflected in three of them. According to Switzerland Tourism, the trail is approximately 9 km long, and swimming is permitted only in Leisee and Grünsee. To reach the starting point, take the funicular up to Sunnegga and then the gondola to Blauherd. This is a summer trail, and access depends on the cable car timetables: some services do not operate or run only as far as Sunnegga, so it is worth checking the schedule before you set off.
