Tofana: Freccia nel Cielo Cable Car

The Freccia nel Cielo cable car ('Arrow in the Sky') departs from the town centre itself, beside the Ice Stadium, and climbs the Tofana massif in three sections. The first stop, Col Drusciè, is a plateau above the town with views across the entire valley and a small astronomical observatory. The second, Ra Valles, sits at around 2,470 metres and serves as the starting point for mountain trails and ski runs. The final section leads to the Cima Tofana station, just below the summit of Tofana di Mezzo, one of the highest peaks in the Dolomites, from which the view stretches across a large part of the Dolomites. In winter, Tofana is one of Cortina's main ski areas.
