Three Cities - Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua

Historical settlements on the opposite side of the Grand Harbour, inhabited long before the founding of Valletta. Vittoriosa (Birgu) was the first seat of the Order of Malta and today preserves Fort Saint Angelo, the Inquisitor's Palace, and a network of narrow streets that survived the Great Siege of Malta. The Three Cities offer a great insight into Maltese life outside the main tourist circuits and are easily accessible from Valletta by ferry or traditional Maltese boats.
