A historic city under UNESCO protection, located about 30 km west of Split, on a small island connected by bridges to the mainland and the island of Čiovo. It is known for its well-preserved medieval core, the Gothic Cathedral of Saint Lawrence (13th century) with the masterpiece by Master Radovan — a stone portal with scenes from the Bible, stone streets combining Romanesque and Venetian styles, and a seafront promenade. Due to its proximity to Split and its authentic atmosphere, it is one of the most popular day trips in Dalmatia. Accessible by bus from Split (45 minutes) or by ferry from the port.
