Grammata Cove — Ancient Inscriptions and Seafaring

A secluded cove on the northwestern coast of Syros, known for ancient inscriptions carved into the rocks, left by sailors as prayers for safe passage. The cove can be reached by boat or via a demanding dirt road, which keeps it considerably quieter than more accessible beaches to this day. The combination of nature and archaeological heritage makes it one of the most unusual locations on the island.
