Vereda do Arieiro (PR1)

One of the most famous hiking trails on Madeira, connecting the peaks of Pico do Arieiro and Pico Ruivo. The route crosses mountain ridges, passes through tunnels carved into the rock, and runs alongside steep cliffs with views of the island's interior. The trail is demanding and intended for hikers with good physical fitness, but offers one of the most impressive mountain experiences on Madeira.
