Volax — a stone village in the heart of the island

Volax is one of the stranger places in the Aegean Sea — a village surrounded by enormous granite spheres that look as if someone deliberately arranged them there. A small square, an amphitheater carved into the rock, a couple of cafes, and complete silence. An excellent antidote to the coastal crowds.
