Albula Railway Trail

The walking trail begins at the railway station in Preda and leads down to Bergün, approximately 7 km alongside the Albula line, through the section where the train negotiates a steep valley by means of spiral tunnels and viaducts. Information boards along the trail explain the history and engineering of the railway's construction, and from several points you can watch trains passing both above and below you. It is a moderately demanding mountain trail, mostly downhill, taking around two and a half hours to walk, and is clearly waymarked on the ground. Preda is reached by train from Bergün, and the trail is passable during the warmer months of the year.
