Former palace of the Bavarian rulers of the Wittelsbach dynasty, one of the largest and most significant palaces in Europe. The complex encompasses 130 rooms filled with works of art, tapestries, and precious furniture from the 16th to the 19th century. The treasury (Schatzkammer) houses exceptional royal treasures.
The combined ticket for the Residence and Treasury costs around 14 EUR and is recommended as the Treasury contains exceptional exhibits. Arriving in the morning hours is advised. The Cuvilliés Theatre within the complex requires a separate ticket.
