Germany, one of Europe's most influential nations, blends a rich history, vibrant modern cities, and an impressive cultural scene. From Berlin's creative energy to fairytale Bavarian towns and castles, the country offers a diverse experience for every traveler. Renowned for its organization, world-class museums, iconic festivals, and remarkable architecture, Germany is the ideal destination for lovers of history, culture, and urban journeys.
Seven days through western and south-western Germany by car, from Cologne to the Black Forest. The pace is deliberately relaxed: four cities, three drives, and only three changes of accommodation, with two nights spent in each of Cologne, Heidelberg, and Freiburg. The route is one-way — it begins in Cologne, ends in Freiburg, and does not loop back north. The seven-day programme concludes with a day trip into the Black Forest, and the journey home is planned for after the final night, not on the same day.
Ten days from Berlin to the Alps, by car. First the historic cities — Berlin for the first two days, then Dresden and Nuremberg — followed by the Romantic Road through Rothenburg to Neuschwanstein, and finally the Bavarian mountains and lakes. Munich closes the journey with two days. The pace is active: accommodation changes seven times in ten days, so this is not a route for those who want to unpack once and stay put.
