Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos

Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos

The fortress and royal residence from the 14th century was built on the orders of Alfonso XI on the foundations of earlier Roman and Moorish structures. It was home to the Catholic monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella, who received Christopher Columbus here before his first voyage. The complex is known for its defensive towers, archaeological remains, and landscaped gardens with fountains and water channels.
