One of the oldest oracles of the ancient world, located about 22 km from Janina in a valley at the foot of Mount Tomaros. The site includes a well-preserved ancient theater with a capacity of around 18,000 spectators, a temple of Zeus, and the remains of a sacred grove. The theater is still occasionally used for cultural events today.
The ticket is purchased at the entrance to the site. There is no direct public transport to Dodona from Ioannina — a rental car or taxi is recommended. Open daily, closed on Mondays outside of season.
