The museum preserves findings from western Crete spanning from the Neolithic period to the Roman era. The collection includes Minoan artifacts, sculptures, mosaics, and jewelry discovered at sites throughout the region. The museum is housed in a former 14th-century church of San Francesco.
Admission 4 EUR, free for children under 18 and every first Sunday from November to March. The museum is closed on Mondays.
